"Wigs"

Do any of you ladies know where I can get a good wig in the San francisco or Marin county area?

I'm a huge fan of the glamour of hairpieces...
in sf:
place on Mission & 26th, right next to that bar 26 mix. Very polite, elegant couple owns it...some of the stuff is PRICEY (the items made of human hair). But there ARE there deals to be found.

In oakland, a spot called hollywood glamour wigs or somethin of that ilk, one block from the MacArthur BART station. Much more inexpensive;be prepared to AGGRESSIVELY bargain, though.

I've been using hair pieces on & off fr about a decade & am happy to answer any questions. One thing I can tell you right away...both places will try to sell you sprays etc yo don't need for wig upkeep. all you need is that shine spray stuff you can get at a drugstore for like $3.and a brush with very fine bristles-- the sort made for baby hair.

hope this helps!

In Red Lipstick & Solidarity,
Miranda.

Wow! Thanks Miranda. I don't know much about wigs, but would always like to know more. I definitely have always had a curiosity about them. They're just so fun. Hugs, MIA

They are awesomely fun!

I always wear to work in. I even have a couple for days when I'm too
lazy to go thru the curling/flat iron thing.

One important tip, go to Beauty Supply (or certain stores will occasionally carry) the short bobbypins which have micro-grooves
on inside of bobbypins to grasp hair better. You will use about 8 pins, temples in front of ears, behind ears and I criss-cross at nape of neck area.

I prefer synthetic. The prices are better, and from my experience, it seems the styles and colors are more current-styles.

Check for the combs sewn in. It helps anchor into hair. These can be sewn in if you want.
