Different Types of Vaginal Discharge Mean Different Things...

All woman are different and discharge is unique to the individual but here are some helpful guidelines.

Thick and white: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not cum or a yeast infection. It may have a light scent and a bitter flavor.

Clear and stretchy: This "snotty/slimy" discharge is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating. No scent or flavor.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising or when turned on. May have a very light scent and little to no flavor.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection or poor diet. Infection is likely if the discharge is thick or clumpy like "clumpy" like cottage cheese or has a strong foul odor and a very strong flavor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" the old blood from the vagina. May have a light scent and taste like iron.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur at anytime but especially when you are ovulating/mid-cycle, after aggressive sex or because of stress. May have a light scent or a strong "raw steak" smell and taste like iron.

LOL, don't say I never told ya nut'n.

I found that using specific lubricants & condoms that contain glycerin can throw off my PH balance, leading to yeast infections and discharge. Using a water based lube prevents this such as one called liquid silk.

You wont find it at Rite Aid or any drug store I have found. More specifically an adult shop that gears for women. Pleasures of the Heart in San Rafael is what i recommend. (415) 482-9899

I found this interesting here is the link:.. RE: As far as herbs to restore vaginal PH..

"1. Ginseng has a twin benefits when used to treat vaginal infections. It can both improve the immune system and help to restore the hormonal balance. Take it raw or in the form of a ginseng extract capsule of 200 mg three times a day.
2. Licorice is an effective hormone regulator and also has other health benefits. Take 200 to 300 mg of Deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) three times a day. Do not take this herb if you happen to suffer from blood pressure.
3. Alfalfa is also known to help with hormone regulation and is available in the form of dried leaves. To get rid of vaginal odor 500 mg a day should suffice.

Quite a few years ago my doctor told me that rinsing with one third apple cider vinegar to two thirds water would restore the pH and that ended the chronic yeast problems! It worked like a charm!
