Just a reminder how helpful it is to both parties when providers list in their ad, their preferred method of contact for reference checks!
I always read the provider ad, and almost always the preferred method is NOT listed, though I would love to accommodate it! Then I end up doing triple the work, having to email, inbox, and call....I might inconvenience you because I am guessing, and in the end I'm left hoping something pans out as far as checking a reference.

I just thought I'd put this out there as a reminder! It makes things easier for everyone. I know I prefer to be contacted according to my own preferred method, so I make that very clear in my ad.

   Maybe you could just ask the client. I mean, he knows her, so he may know her preferences.
If the client did not ask her to serve as a reference, you may be surprising her.
The guy wants the reference, make him do the work. It really isn't work for him, because he already knows the reference. He can call her and ask her first.
That way you can honor the discretion of both parties.

I guess that'd be one way, but most men in my experience will say "call her," because they believe that is quickest and want the process expedited. If I have a preference, or you have a preference, why not just put it in our ad, instead of expecting everyone we meet to remember what we prefer?

Our ad is how we speak to eachother, and to everyone.... Why not make it as accurate as possible?

   great point, & thanks for the reminder.
another reason why we should list such info in our ads is so that we'll know which gals are actually going to respond to ref queries... clients frequently tell me, "oh 'Sally' is great about giving references for me" & when I contact "Sally"-- nothin. Not a word. & nothing in her about participating in the reference system.

so,yeah, let's all edit our ads, those who need to do so!

For starters, this really is directed toward ladies who are reference friendly. (I know you are Rose, I'm just clarifying)

When I go to check a ref the first thing I do is read the ladies ad to see what steps I should take to check a ref with her. I want to be effective. Often times there is NO mention in the ad of how to clear the ref with the provider I need to contact.

SO I'm saying it'd be helpful if ladies write in their ad the preferred method of contact regarding refs.
Example "please inbox me to check refs," OR "Please email me," OR "I really prefer you call me!"

That way I know what you like and what will work best and I don't have to blindly call, email and inbox and perhaps disturb.

I myself prefer email or inbox so it says that all over my ad.

I put in my ad that I am "provider reference friendly" and always get back to another provider ASAP.

Now I will definitely post my desired method of contact (EMAIL/INBOX) me.

BTW, I had a regular contact me yesterday telling me he gave another provider my name and number as a reference - SHE never contacted me in any way, shape or fashion.

I was his first RB girl - so I know he didn't have any other references to give her and she STILL hasn't called me.

Don't take risks ladies; please be SAFE.
